How we handle your data
What changes in administrator mode?

In Teacher mode, Canvas Workspace is limited to the courses where you’re assigned as an instructor. Administrator mode lets you choose any course your Canvas permissions allow you to view, without being assigned as an instructor. Both modes include bulk tools; administrator access expands the courses you can select.

Course visibility depends on your existing permissions. Teacher Copilot does not grant Canvas permissions or change your role. You can also use the single-course checks and snapshots to investigate an individual course.

Can I run a school-wide check?

Yes. Select the courses you want to include from the Canvas account you can access, then run a bulk due-date or gradebook check. Include all accessible courses you need reviewed for a school-wide check, or choose a smaller group. Results are grouped by course so you can follow up with the right teaching teams.

Checks are on demand and cover published assignments in the selected scope. Teacher Copilot does not provide scheduled monitoring or automatically fix assignments, enter grades or contact staff. Review any failed or inaccessible courses separately.

How does Canvas Analytics fit in?

Canvas Analytics is a separate full-page workspace for reviewing a student group’s grades across permitted courses. Choose the term or grading period and filter the results. It is available through pilot access and requires a separate authorized Canvas connection. Bulk course checks run in Canvas Workspace using your signed-in Canvas browser session.

How do access and plans work?

Canvas Admin includes 150 AI credits and 60 transcription minutes each month.

Allowances renew monthly without rollover; published limit changes apply at your next renewal. Course checks do not use AI credits or transcription minutes. Tool access and your Canvas permissions still apply.
